Allegra Caldera is the oldest of three sisters. Growing up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, she enlisted her sisters, cousins and friends to put on her plays and make movies together. After moving to Bethesda, Maryland for high school, she began acting in a traveling theater troupe and fell in love with Shakespeare.

Allegra has an AB in English from Harvard College, where, alongside her studies, she frequently acted in, directed and produced campus theater. She graduated with high honors, winning the Winthrop Sargent Prize for her thesis on Shakespeare, as well as a Le Baron Russell Briggs Traveling Prize. She directed her final college production, Peer Gynt, on the Loeb Mainstage at the A.R.T.

Since moving to Los Angeles, Allegra has written on the Apple TV show The Last Thing He Told Me, joined the WGA, and been a fellow with the National Hispanic Media Coalition’s Series Scriptwriters program.
